I did have a couple of concerns upon first receiving the nightstand when the very first instruction was how to anchor the stand to a wall. I've never had to anchor a nightstand to the wall and was immediately concerned about stability. My concern turned out to be misplaced, as the stand is very stable. What I did discover was that the stand does not have a back, it's open. There are drawer stops on each drawer rail which do prevent the drawers from sliding out the back.I find the stand to be very attractive with a nice gloss/waxed looking top. There is a slight angle to the front of the drawers, but at this price point nothing I'm overly concerned with. They fit nicely and glide easily on the shelves, and contain an easily removable insert to prevent them from folding.I've only had the stand for about a week but so far so good. I would recommend this nightstand.
