Review on 🏑 Boost Your Home's Health: Comprehensive Mold Inspection Pack for 3 Separate Areas by Dan Toliver

Convenient but didn't work for me.

The tests are fairly simple, although the instructions are minimal and I may have overlooked something. In either case, you can run your finger over the suspected moldy area and then rinse the tip with the solution, which is then applied to the test pads. Sounds simple enough and mostly speaks for itself. You take a swab (looks like a cotton swab) and peel off the cover to rub it over the affected area. Well, as far as black mold goes, this method isn't necessary as it's fairly easy to see. So for me it's more in close proximity to the affected areas (like bathtub outlets with bubble aerators). In any case, removing the cover is easy. Rubbing the area with dry swabs feels like something is missing, but okay. Put the cap back on the swab. This part is very easy. The next part is to break the liquid capillary at the back of the tampon device. This turned out to be less advanced than the instructions suggest. It's a blue tube that looks like a flexible tube in the middle of a liquid bottle that needs to be broken open. It takes some effort and it didn't crack initially because it wasn't right. but if it cracks, you're doing everything right. (There is no visual feedback.) If the capillary is broken, use a plunger to pump liquid into the cap you replaced after dragging your finger across it. This is where measurement and decision come together. The time does not indicate how long you need to "cook" before proceeding to the next step. In any case, after the time it took to open the packages with the tests, I applied the solution. The instructions don't really explain why there are two of these (with different markings but otherwise look the same). Another factor that is intuitive but not very clear is the placement of the solution. This is a round hole and then the solution will spread over the test strip. In my samples, I almost visually confirmed the presence of mold, but the ASP/Pen test did not show a second streak. It is good to have a control strip for adequate wetting. I'll admit I might have swiped right, but the instructions didn't really say much about how to do it right or wrong. The test capsule, dubbed "Stakhaybotris," was a different story. Dosing liquid into the round hole resulted in only partial wetting and somehow the liquid stopped being absorbed. Needless to say, it didn't work and it's not clear why. Overall I like the idea of making test system at home with instant results. Mold is everywhere and it helps to avoid unhealthy situations. But at least in my tests it didn't work. The instructions aren't necessarily very clear and that might be my fault, but it's not giving reliable results at the moment.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
