Review on πŸ”Š Enhance Your Kitchen with the iLive iKB333S Under Cabinet Radio - Bluetooth Speakers Included (Silver) by Mario Schultz

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Great radio with two main problems. 3.5 stars

Easy install, great sound for the price. A 12-year-old child will have no problem installing a radio in a cabinet. Simply glue the cutout to the base and drill 3 holes. Not audiophile quality, but the sound is crisp and clear. Woman loves to stream music from her iPhone to the radio. Instead of drilling another hole in the kitchen cabinet for the FM antenna (small black wire) I wrapped it around the radio and had no problem getting the radio. Although YMMV. However, the device has two major issues and only deserves 3.5 stars (Amazon won't let me give it a 3.5, so I'll give it 4:1). The LCD display is TERRIBLE. It is difficult to read the time in any external light. If you're not looking directly at the LCD, forget it. Since the bottom of our closet isn't at eye level, I have to bend down to check the time. Poor selection and crappy LCD display. I would prefer an old digital watch. 2) Don't know what version of BT the radio is using, but make sure you turn off your sound when switching from bluetooth to radio. All of our music is 356k+ (not lossless but still above average quality), and no matter how loud your phone/tablet is, the volume on your device should be high enough. When we switched to the radio, I thought the speakers were about to explode because of the high volume. Now let's turn the volume down before we switch sources. And the last little remark: The buttons on the radio are a pain in the ass. But not a deal breaker.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Communication with seller
