My Go To Burger Bag

I have been playing my own game including making my own burger for several years. I've used a variety of packaging methods to store my hamburger and have found using LEM venison bags to be the easiest way to freeze meat. I can stuff them right out of the meat grinder. The bags are a good size and stack well in my freezer. I haven't had any problems with the freezer either. The quality of the bag is very good, easy to fill and protects my burger in the freezer. In fact, I have several LEM products, including my coffee grinder, that have been top notch. While the photo isn't just of this particular bag (I ran out during processing and had to borrow another brand from a friend), it shows how well these types of bags stack. However, unlike the bags in the picture, the LEM bag has a "fill line" for 1 pound of meat. This is useful, otherwise you'll try to tell by another mark on the bag where to stop filling to get a pound of hamburger. I've also saved a lot of money buying a hamburger at the grocery store by researching specific cuts of beef that are for sale. Most stores grind it for free, then I run it through a coffee grinder with a nozzle and fill bags. I've been able to get great prices on lean ground beef this way, and I'm confident that my investment will be of good quality once I'm ready to put it to use. And depending on how little I have left in my freezer, I better start looking for my next good meat buy.
