The main problem with the new version: constantly burning back cover

I have had 3 versions of this flashlight, from 1.0 to original 2.0 and now new 2.0. This is my 5th Lumintop tool. The new version has a big problem: I use my flashlight as an everyday lamp (always in my pocket) and also when working in a professional environment. I use 14500 cells because that gives the best performance to this light. The new headlights have a blue LED in the back cover that ALWAYS (literally, you can't turn it off) emits blue light from the back cover and is constantly draining the battery! WHICH TYPE?! Who thought that was a good idea?! Do you want to walk in the dark and not get blue light from your body? Too bad. Would you like to be able to slip a flashlight into your glove box and be able to open it and know that your flashlight is still fully charged and hasn't drained its battery in months while powering the blue light in the glove box? very bad. Would you like to work in a professional environment and not receive blue light from your body? Too bad. The new case back is always flatter and recessed, making it difficult to apply with gloves, and its surface is smoother, giving it less texture. It also doesn't have the instant-on feature of the previous rear. A big step in the wrong direction for a great flashlight that didn't need any modification other than a more powerful pocket clip. At least supply the original non-emission non-drain back or offer it as a separate version/model. Otherwise it's a great light. Cheap. Sturdy enough considering the price. My eldest which has been dropped countless times and used as a crowbar and occasionally flickers. They are bright. Wide beam, white beam. Light and small. memory function.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • So far so good
