Review on πŸ”Œ 5-Pack of Amazon Basics 6-Foot High-Speed Micro-HDMI to HDMI TV Adapter Cables with Ethernet, 3D, and Audio Return Support by Jason Staggs

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Please note that this is a guide wire.

Please note that it is a directional cable. A possibly rare connection from the output of the desktop computer (large device) to the input of the mini/pocket projector (smaller device) could not be established. In other words, I wanted to map my graphics card's HDMI output to the micro HDMI input on my small portable projector display. I think most of the time the cable is used to project from a camera or phone (handheld) to a TV or monitor (larger device). Apparently, "Redmere" technology is a small circuit that allows this type of cable to carry signals longer distances with thinner wires. However, a trade-off can result in "directionality" from the Micro HDMI end to the regular HDMI end. Finding this too late, I decided to see if I could modify the cable myself (I'm pretty good with tools like a soldering iron). ). I came across a regular HDMI connector (the larger connector) to see if I could remove or bypass that circuitry. But the connector was pretty well formed and the tiny electronics were completely encased in rubber/plastic, so I gave up. In fact, this is probably a plus as, like the cables, it's pretty well made and has a modern look. Works for: Portable Device Output -> This Cable -> Larger Display Input.
