Great product. The cord is all nylon so you will need to use a flame to seal the frayed end when you cut it. I measured the middle of my old worn cord and bought this as it was the same size. When replacing it, I noticed that the end of my old cable, where it wasn't frayed or stretched, was about 20% larger in diameter. So measure the cord at the end and buy the right size. My original cable was very stiff, maybe it was cotton on the side and wouldn't compress allowing the little brake wheel to grab it and hold the blinds. This cord is softer, a bit slippery, and I bought it a little smaller so it slips right after the brake and the blinds don't stay up. Now I use a clamp to wrap the cord around to keep the blinds up.
