I installed this remote control in a fan with a small canopy on a sloping ceiling. I doubt the other receivers I considered would fit, but this one did. I had no problems installing it, except that this fan prevents the hood from closing after working on the wiring. The board works perfectly. Haven't tried the timer yet, but it seems like a great feature that I haven't seen on older fan remotes. There is one downside, however: the Model I received beeps when you turn the light or fan on and off, or change the fan speed. . I later found out that newer models have a "buzzer mute" feature that allows you to mute the beep by holding the stop button. Get this feature if you don't like the beep sound. Or, if you buy an older version, you can apparently open up the receiver and remove the buzzer. I wasn't aware of this before installing the receiver and I don't want to rewire now to make this change.
