The original that came with my YOUTHINK ceramic fountain lasted over three years. I went away (with the cats) with my mom for a week and forgot to turn off the fountain. From the start the water level was low and the engine couldn't run while I was away so it burned out. I received an engine exchange (July 2019). This replacement died in February 2020 so I bought a new one. The new engine just died (today 2 August 2020) and showed no signs of failure. Today is Sunday and I'm doing a full cleaning. After assembly, the motor simply does not work. I sterilize the fountain weekly by cleaning the entire fountain, including the motor (cleaning with distilled vinegar). There is no point in replacing this engine every few months when the original engine lasted more than 2 years. I love my fountain and my cats too. I've fallen into the trap of replacing this engine more times than I should. A NOTICE. I had no problems with the fountain or the filters.
