We needed an inexpensive kennel for our new 7 week old orphaned kitten so he won't always be around when we do housework and when we go out! This tent-like playpen is perfect. It's a good size for a small kitten (or dog) and seems sturdy enough that I don't have to worry about him tearing it apart with his tiny but sharp claws and teeth. It has a mesh top that can be unzipped if I want to open it...which I don't like lol. The little guy climbed up several times to cool off and he didn't collapse. I'm not sure how much weight a cat can carry. The bottom is completely closed and at least waterproof, if not completely waterproof. Mesh door flap opens and rolls up for Velcro fastening. It has a zipped pocket on the outside that a tote bag can fit in and an open pocket on the other side to put the pegs in when not in use. Once you took it out of your travel bag, it took about 30 seconds to set up. It is relatively light and travel bags make trips to grandma easier. This is a great choice and definitely worth buying.
