These lanterns are great for authentic glowing without the risk of using real flames. I used them for camping at the SCA Medieval Fair. The LED is warm and flickers like a candle. It also emits about the same amount of light as a candle. So keep in mind that for a large tent you will need several. At first I ordered a lamp but after testing I realized I needed more light and received a set of 4 lamps. It is worth noting that different LEDs are used in a single flashlight and a set of 4 LEDs. One lamp is redder and emits less light, while a set of 4 lamps is a lighter yellowish-orange color. Because of this, I initially suspected that the single flashlight was somehow defective/broken and sent a replacement. However, the replacement also had a warmer red LED. Although my obsessive-compulsive disorder drives me crazy when one of my five lamps doesn't fit. I'll probably have to deal with that.
