Review on 💜 Vibrant Amethyst Hair Color - MANIC PANIC Electric Amethyst Hair Dye Classic by Megan Washington

I LOVE the Manic Panic brand! If you're new to fun hair coloring, you MUST know that these are HALF MENTAL dyes and they WILL WASH OUT with EVERY wash! The color depth of your hair depends on your hair type (straight, fine, thick, etc.) and your color (lighter hair retains the original color closer to what you see in the container, as opposed to darker hair). The hair follicle absorbs only a certain amount of dye (smaller pigment colors) and deposits the rest on the outer "cover" of your hair. With each wash, the color will gradually wash out, so I recommend either using a pigmented shampoo or making your own shampoo and adding a small amount of color to the shampoo you wash your hair with. Also, wash your hair moderately (2-3 times a week) and use dry shampoo in between. Tips aside, the Manic Panic brand is awesome, fun, easy to clean, and safe for your hair during conditioning. I can leave it on my hair for hours (which I literally do) and it doesn't hurt because the color doesn't penetrate the hair, it just stays on. Reviews that it quickly washes out, see above. Proper care and an understanding of how color affects hair are essential to satisfying this product. Also, I often mix my colors, the color you see on the dye is how it will look on your hair (give or take a few shades based on your starting hair color).
