Review on Zinsser Ready Mixed Popcorn Ceiling 1 Quart by Charles Salgado

This plaster helped me a lot when I had to repair an acoustic ceiling. It applies well and is quite easy to apply. The texture doesn't quite match my blanket, but it's close enough that it could use a little improvement. Two tips based on my experience with this product. Your mileage may vary! First, the instructions for the patch are a bit ambiguous about whether a primer is needed. However, I have found the hard way that this patch will leave water stains on the ceiling unless the area is primed. So now I always use the recommended shellac primer before patching. Second, the instructions for the patch say "no need to paint". That was wrong on my ceiling, maybe because the ceiling had aged enough to be darker than the stain color. To achieve color matching, I painted the area with a color that matched the color of the rest of the ceiling. I would have to paint again because of the water stains (until I learned how to prime first). Conclusion: I had to prime and then paint before patching. It took quite a bit of time and effort, but the result is a barely noticeable repair that I'm happy with.
