I bought this jacket in a small size for a medium sized pug. It fits great. I measured it before buying the jacket to find the right size. The jacket has a hole for the head where the top and bottom of the jacket attach. The top of the jacket has two Velcro straps that wrap around the stomach and attach to the bottom of the jacket. There is no slit along the bottom of the jacket. No need to maneuver your dog's arms through the opening. Very easy to put on and take off. There is a two-way zipper at the top that allows you to attach the leash to the harness. The good thing about a zipper is that it's not a small hole to try and slide the rings through. The zipper allows you to wear different seat belts underneath. I wish the jacket was a bit thicker/bulky. It seems to keep him warm, but I wish there was more coverage underneath.
