Review on πŸ’» Plugable 7-Port USB 3.0 Hub: High-Speed Connectivity with 36W Power Adapter by John Harvieux

Revainrating 3 out of 5

To be honest, I don't know. Mine is very annoying but may be defective. Works great when it works.

The hub sucks. Randomly turns off power to individual devices. I hear the window sound "device connected/disconnected" every few minutes. The same when connected to one of my Linux devices. I had to use power strips to power the main storage devices, which works and shows that the hub at least keeps the data pins connected despite the power outage. Works great when it works, really fast USB3 speeds and amazing transfer between two portable SSDs on the same hub, and ports 1 and 7 are definitely rated for 1.5A (I have a couple of USB multimeters, I'm a serious one Idiot). is great. I just wish I didn't have to keep my primary storage devices on power strips with separate 5V DC power supplies. They have a dozen of these damn things and I'll be ordering more :/ I'll bite the bullet and buy a bigger and more expensive USB3 hub and use that on a rarely used Pi4b. So it's probably a good hub for most users, and the price is fantastic, but not quite what I was hoping for. Might be defective, idk, but if so a usable one would probably work just fine. I've missed the return period and looking for a possible warranty doesn't seem worthwhile with a semi-functional device that's so cheap.
