My wife and I looked at many similar products before deciding on this one. We are very glad we bought it. The product was very well packaged in a sturdy box with firmly taped corners and edges. The fence comes assembled, it's amazing! Inside the box, leaves and pieces of styrofoam protected the item along with a small piece of cardboard and pieces of sponge to ensure the fence pieces were well protected during shipping! Ours arrived safely via USPS - surprisingly still undamaged. The fence looks beautiful with white trim, black wiring and silver hinges/hardware. Right out of the box the fence unfolds easily and each section can be folded back and forth allowing it to be easily bent to where you need it, as a fence or in two shapes, like an octagonal or rectangular fenced area. You are tall. panels and thus the box is large. It's also 12 foot railings so the crate will be a bit heavy for some, but overall not too bad. What helps make it not too heavy compared to some similar products is the small thickness (depth) of each panel, allowing it to fold into a smaller space than other products where each panel is 4 inches deep! The reduced thickness doesn't seem to be an issue in terms of quality or functionality, so we're glad we went with that option. Additionally, the panels are 30 inches high and 24 inches wide, so they help hold small children, and likely held most dogs, except for dogs that can jump 30 inches or ram a fence. There are two supporting parts for the fence (the bottom of each is covered with soft protective padding to avoid scratching the ground), but they are not strong enough to prevent the fence from being pushed or knocked over with sufficient force. if the fence is installed continuously. However, they are sufficient for normal attachment. We have a fence spanning an opening about 9 feet with some of the end panel pieces attached to the refrigerator and a piece of furniture in the corner of the dining area. That gives him a lot of power. The fence will move back and forth as you walk through or touch it as it is not anchored to the ground, but that is not the purpose of this fence and therefore not a problem. You may need self-adhesive felt pads at various points on the underside of the fence if it rubs against your wooden or tiled floor to avoid possible damage. Some others I think have written reviews saying the screws weren't enough for two, but we didn't find that. You only need to attach two latches with four small screws, which is pretty easy. However, I would like the starting holes for each screw to be a bit deeper as they are difficult to screw in. I found it more convenient to use a manual screwdriver than an electric one. Difficult to get the screws in once the fence is up. So if you can open the fence so that part of the gate is pressed against the hard ground, I think it will be easier for you to screw it in. Once inside the latches work great and we only use the top one to keep the pups in the kitchen/dining room so we can easily get in and out with just one latch. The gate only opens in one direction. These are not swing gates that open in both directions. No problem - just so you know. However, the gate opens 180 degrees, allowing it to fit one side of the fence rather than protruding at a 45 degree angle, which poses a traffic hazard. Great feature! We love it and it arrived quicker than expected which is very nice. We can highly recommend this product.
