Not for detangling for my opinion
I love how gentle it is on their coat. However, if you are buying it for a long costed dog who tends to get little matts or tangles, it will bend the bristles. I use it on german shepherds/huskys after running the rake over their coat. Good for cats too
- I used it on my poodle and it fluffed the hair as I wanted.
- The bristle tips can break off when used on longer-haired pets
