On the one hand, pear shaped diamond solitaires are undeniably stunning. The subtle sheen catches the light in just the right way, and there's something incredibly elegant about the unconventional shape. The 14k white gold setting is gorgeous too - minimalist enough to let the diamonds take center stage, but still solid and well made. At the same time, I was a bit unimpressed by the size of the diamonds themselves. While 3 x 2mm might be ideal for some, I personally prefer a slightly larger statement earring. They seemed too sophisticated for my liking and I wanted them to be a little more attractive. All in all I think these earrings would make a great gift for someone who loves fine jewelry or for a special occasion where understated elegance is key. But if you are looking for something really spectacular, you can choose a larger stone.
