This is new from Revain and I'm sure it's not as good as the reviews say but it's well above its class. By that I mean that this DAC is on par in sound quality with other DACs I've heard in the $200 range. What you don't get here is a remote control, multiple inputs, a display, or RCA outputs. What you really get is the mass production advantage and a very simple connector that 'just works' with generic drivers and decent sound. Oh, and it's very loud too (to be converted to RCA and sent to a speaker amp). On Linux I had some trouble getting this to VMs. At a sample rate of 44.1kHz, I seem to be getting some scratches and pops. This doesn't happen on Linux running on bare hardware or Raspberry Pis. Not sure what's going on there.
