This wheel requires assembly. I didn't like it but I understand because there are three ways to set it up. It can be attached to the cage if it is a metal type. You can put a suction cup on it if it's a glass aquarium, and then there's a basic option. According to the instructions, it seems to be much more complicated than it really is. Some parts look the same and aren't labeled very well, but through trial and error I was able to figure it out. I went with the stand mounted. It is very durable. The stand has rubberized feet that help with wheel placement and stabilization. It's completely silent. It moves very smoothly along the axis. It's fairly smooth on the inside, but there are a few areas that help it cling to lines. It is easy to wash with soap and water. I am satisfied with the quality and size. I love how smoothly it runs and that everything worked out as advertised.
