This device has a good, not amazing Sound...not bright, not boomy, but more balanced than I've heard from sub-$75 Bluetooth speakers, for example, and the sound is noticeably better than the Sangean WFR-28, which uses the same menu structure from Frontier Nuvola (formerly Frontier Silicon ). Customers will benefit by reading the manual CAREFULLY to understand the parameters and functions. Those who seem like an intuitive device with no learning curve are out of luck. GOOD: - Above average sound, no major flaws. - With the equalizer -Function allows you to customize the sound to your liking - Wireless Wi-Fi and Ethernet cable for internet connection - Connections for line-out (to the amplifier), rear Headphone jack (front placement would be more convenient) and AUX input. ff, but without stinginess. Aux-In allows you to connect your phone or other device to the headphone jack with a 3.5mm audio cable. - USB option to play MP3 files, but I haven't tested it. - You can program FAVORITES on the remote control. But read the instructions carefully. Comes with an FM tuner (not all internet radios). However, the device is very sensitive to electrical interference or possibly WiFi interference. The hiss rendered the tuner unusable in two of the three places I tried. BAD: - SEARCH by callsign feature misses many (most?) US FM stations. You can use the POSSIBLE menu to find the station you want in the Frontier Silicon listings by category. (Or you may be logging into the Frontier Nuvola Smart Radio website but the URL in the manual is incorrect). โ There are no dedicated FAVORITE buttons on the radio. However, you can press the FAV button. By carefully reading the instructions, you can complete the list of 10 favorites. It works, but you really have to follow the instructions. There is no way to use the device as a wireless speaker via Bluetooth, Chromecast, etc. This will be a problem for those who listen to music through apps on their phones or touchpads and don't want to connect via wires Curve to get the most out of your radio GENERAL: ***1/2. Good sound; There are no wireless protocols (BT, Chromecast, etc.) that would make the device more useful. Auna currently advertises Spotify Premium features, but I haven't tested it. The SEARCH function often does not work. Good device with 2004 technology. If you buy this, or any non-Bluetooth or Chromecast internet radio, you better hope the main service provider, in this case Frontier Nuvola, stays in business. The Frontier Nuvola website is slow but helps you find radio stations and add and manage favorite radio stations to use around your home.
