I don't use them for water shoes so I can only say what I use them for. I needed a comfortable pair of shoes that would hold up securely on slippery hardwood floors when exercising indoors. And these are perfect for that purpose. I also like the fact that they have removable arch support and a very flexible sole. Really good deal for the price. I had to order a size bigger because I wear socks with it, which of course you can't wear on the beach. When considering size, think about how you will use them. When you go into the water, you have to be neat. If not, then they could be enlarged a bit. I liked them so much that after receiving them I ordered another pair.
