Just what I needed to replace a broken 40 year old range hood in my tired old kitchen. This thing was very easy to install. The instructions were clear where needed, not that we really needed them as I thought the setup was pretty self explanatory. Take out the old hood and check what you need [if you need anything else] to install the new hood. Our duct was rectangular, like the damper on this fan, so it came up easily with the new metal tape. Changing the wires was easy. It took us both to attach the hood [because I wanted it to fit properly] but it was done in a few minutes. The power came back and we were in business. Our kitchen is seriously falling apart, but I'm not in the market to redo everything yet. At the same time it was an inexpensive fix for a broken fan and it looks fantastic. This thing is quieter than the old one I picked up and oh my gosh it has way more power than the old one; I mean I knew the old one was going to die but I didn't know how bad it was or I would have replaced it years ago before it broke and dropped me. If this new one lasts until I redo my kitchen then I'm definitely getting my money's worth on this purchase. I recommend this product.
