These socks are fantastic, I have had severe swelling in my feet for over a year due to Rheumatoid Arthritis and some medications I am taking. My calf is 17" but it swelled to 20" when I ordered it so I got size XL. While not as tight as I would have liked, they were perfect for my feet. The first day I put them on, my feet were almost back to their normal size, and while they don't fit snugly against my legs, my feet were also much less swollen than usual just cover my legs to wear over them. They fit the legs perfectly but don't press on the upper part at all unlike others I've tried. you wake up. If you have rough heels, I recommend smoothing them out so you don't bang your toes. I recommend putting these socks on using the heel pocket method and making sure there are no wrinkles. I also checked them throughout the day and adjusted as needed as a crease may cause them to have a tight band in that area. I didn't have to adjust them much. For the first time in over a year, my legs and feet were less swollen by the end of the day than they were in the morning. Great success!
