Review on 🍝 Stainless Steel Pasta Basket, 6-1/4 Inches - Ideal for Straining Noodles by Ashley Davis

When I bought this I honestly didn't think it would work for my purpose but thought I'd give it a try anyway. I wanted to be able to fit a full 12 ounces. a bag of egg noodles so I don't have to carry a large pot of hot boiling water to the sink to drain. I was pleasantly surprised that the noodles actually fit in this colander, which at first glance seemed too small. It would definitely work better and fit a wider range of pots if the strainer was a little wider instead of taller, or at least kept the same height but was about an inch wider at the base...so it would be possible to make a shorter pot . used with less water. The little hook on the side isn't very useful as it's so close to the top of the colander that when you hang it on the pan the contents will still be in the water...so don't drain unless You are physically holding the strainer to drain the water or using a very tall pot which is basically 13 inches tall (an extra hook on the BOTTOM strainer would be very helpful...then you could hook it over the rim of the pot hook and the contents would be out of the water). For reference, the pot I used was 6 liters. It was 9 inches wide and 6 1/4 inches high and I had to fill it almost to the brim with water to keep the noodles submerged (see photo). Either way, it works and the quality is ok (it's not super high quality stainless steel, but it's ok).
