Smooth surface, bird falls and has difficulty holding on

Maybe it's for decoration? My lovebird slips and is scared of him. It has a smooth surface. When I last tested natural wood for birds, it's best to leave it rough and natural. Looks like something in the wild. It's really stupid. Cute for a fake bird in a cage for decorative purposes only. Not to mention, if a bird chews on it (lovebirds chew anything), it can be poisonous to them.
