Review on MuteDaddy - Silence Annoyingly Loud TV Commercials - Scroll Down and View Our Video! by Rachael Taylor

Is working . BUT: Remote controls and accessories

In my opinion, MuteDaddy is an example of a great idea that is being rethought. Something ruined the great concept of giving people a BIG, easily accessible mute button to block annoying ads. I don't know if this was an assumption about how people use the TV's mute button, or if she just created a feature to match the manufacturer's assumption that people turn off ads. For me, MuteDaddy is a failure. The function of this big beautiful white mute button has a serious flaw. This big white mute button only works with the "timer" feature, and the actual mute takes about 2 seconds to actually work. Why? The timer is set to 30 second increments. Press once for 30 seconds, twice for 60 seconds, and so on. I don't know how long a commercial break will last - does anyone know? Disable ads, not your program. Not easy, no fun. If you make a mistake and your program starts before the timer activates the mute function, you can unmute it manually. And I'm wondering: what's the benefit of estimating how long the commercial break is going to last versus manually muting and unmuting? In a few weeks with MuteDaddy I got it right four times. The rest of the time I had to either add time or turn the sound on manually. Much easier if you could just turn the sound on and off with that big white button. This "temporary mute" feature is fully described in the product manual. The product description on Revain is not that clear. I wish I had watched the video and researched more. A clearer description of the functionality up front and on Revain would be nice. MuteDaddy may meet the needs of some, but not mine.
