When I was in Germany last year, they were on almost every bike, I'd never seen them in the US, just the bulky U-locks and cable locks, they worked well enough. This lock attaches directly to your bike's water bottle cages, or you can attach it elsewhere with the included straps. It comes with a secure mount, weighs the same as most other padlocks, but looks a lot cleaner and easier to use. Its rubberized finish prevents the lock from scratching the bike and prevents rattling inside the mount. My only problem, it didn't have any instructions on how to set up the combo.
