Review on πŸš— BW 2.4G Wireless Car License Plate Mount Rear View Backup Camera with Night Vision, 7 IR LEDs, Transmitter & Receiver (Waterproof Ip67, Color CMOS, 135 Degree Viewing Angle, Distance Scale Line) by Mike Betzing

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I made an unorthodox RV setup but it works like a dream!

I installed this in the back of my caravan to bypass the video cable connection between the truck and trailer. Follower. While it's entirely possible that the transmitter would traverse about 40 feet of sheet metal to get the signal to the receiver, I wasn't confident enough to spend my time using conventional wiring. I installed the transmitter outside of the battery box and the receiver 3 feet under the rear bumper of my truck. I hooked it up to my reverse light so it turns on every time I reverse, but I also added a manual power switch (and a diode to prevent the reverse lights from backing up) so I can activate the camera, to change lanes on the Autobahn. .The wired camera that came with the monitor I installed on the front bumper to help park my huge truck. Using a stranded RCA cable I was able to pass both video to the front panel and power to the back panel via the unused video feed cable. These cameras and receivers consume a small amount of power, so RCA cables are more than adequate to power them.
