I installed a new DSLR and this kit at the same time. It would randomly try to turn it off, turn on the screensaver and then wake up by itself, try to go into parking mode, then beep and wake up immediately. It also made a buzzing noise. I switched the taps according to the instructions so that at least the camera comes on with the ignition and works while driving (parking mode denied), but that didn't help at all. But then I connected the dash cam to the included power adapter (cigarette lighter plug) and it worked great. And then I bought another set of 3 wires from another manufacturer, ripped that out and put a new one in. And the camera worked like magic: without stopping, it would turn on with the ignition, switch to parking attendant mode with the engine off—doing everything it was supposed to do. I have a brand new 2021 car with a brand new electrical system. In addition, these cable sets also had problems when operated on a car battery without current fluctuations from the alternator. To add insult to injury, the build quality leaves a lot to be desired. The power supply is tiny and gets so hot I was afraid to leave it in the fuse box. The wires are much thinner than a competitor's kit that worked well. The little switch on the power supply broke as soon as I tried to flip it. The included fuse puller broke when I tried to remove the fuse from one of the faucets that came with the kit - once you put the fuse in that faucet it has a stranglehold. I liked the idea of this set and I bought it. despite costing twice as much as its closest competitor - it's got everything, including a cute little voltmeter. But if the device doesn't perform its primary function, then all the bells and whistles won't matter. Hence one star. This is more than just an annoyance. I would worry about damaging the camera with poor power quality. I'm not sure if this mess can be returned. Of course, after all the troubles of installing, reinstalling, and trying to get it to work, it's no longer in its original form. I think I'll just use it for parts and keep the little voltage tester as a souvenir. So if you are buying a 3 wire harness kit I would go with what Revain offers in the shopping cart and not worry about that. This.
