Full featured stand alone labeler great for making, organizing and labeling gifts or groceries

I have an old fashioned 15 year old labeler that only prints capital letters and numbers so I don't have much of one Label maker expects to be paid for home use. Wow, I was wrong! Although you can't connect this label printer to other devices to print something by hand, it has so many built-in options and icons to create, organize, or just label things. Since you can buy all sorts of colors and textures to print, the possibilities are truly endless. I love that the cartridge it comes with has clear stickers that you stick on and then easily remove and reposition. Note that this is an offline label maker. You absolutely cannot attach it to other devices such as computers, phones or tablets to customize your label. If you're looking for a character or font that hasn't already been downloaded to this device, you're out of luck. HOWEVER, I think this labeler is a good compromise between a fairly cheap home product and something with a lot of features, including around 100 different types of decorative borders, over 600 characters, 10 different fonts, different ways of displaying numbers including roman numerals . , numbers with circles and squares around them, fractions, characters with diacritics, etc. Since this is for home use, there are also some built-in templates for common things like product name/date of manufacture, product category, clothing preparation instructions, and who owns it, snippets lettering, mailing labels etc. You can also print landscape, upside down, use shadows and outlines and there are some really cool "deco mode" formats where the word repeats to a selected width filled with characters. There are many different versions of the Deko format - for example, one with a repeating word written in large white letters on a black background, and directly below that a word written upside down and backwards in small black letters on a white background is repeated. These decorative fonts are really unexpected and stunning in a cheap label maker. Yes, you can't print your own pictures on this thing, create barcodes, or create your own designer frames, but it's fine for the average home. Print really cute and professional looking labels. What I like about this product: - In addition to all the features mentioned above, I like that all of these features are easily accessible. There are enough buttons on the maker to make it intuitive to use, but not cluttered. I like the format of the stickers that come out of the cartridge. The back consists of two strips that can be easily torn off. It's sticky but doesn't stick to the item right away, so you can apply it with ease. - There are many different options for additional label cassettes that you can buy to print (many different label and ink color combinations, including cloth hangers - on the labels - LED screen is easy to read - Keyboard keys are just the right size - It is a fold out manual that not only gives useful tips on how to use the maker and troubleshooting steps, but also lists all the fonts, templates, characters, deco formats and how to access them.Inserting batteries and changing cartridges couldn't be easier Also, I like that on the back of the cartridge you currently have installed in the Labelmazer - It cuts quickly and cleanly You can buy a spare blade if yours ever wears out - I find the quality of the labels to be good. The ink is nice and dark and the labels themselves are nice clear no bubbles or smudges W What I don't like: - There is a connection for a power supply unit, but it is not included in the scope of delivery. It comes with 6 AA batteries (you can replace them with rechargeable ones). It would be great if it had a rechargeable internal battery or even a power cord, but no dice. You need to buy it separately (adapter = model AD-24). - You cannot connect it to other devices or print your own images/barcodes. Desktop size, has all the keyboard features you could possibly need - Optional Brother branded cartridges are quite expensive ($15-20) so while the original printer is a good price, it can get expensive with frequent use. I have to hide this device from my 4 year old son so he doesn't waste cartridges. You can buy cartridges from other manufacturers, but I haven't tested their quality. - You cannot connect this label maker to other devices such as phones, tablets, computers, etc. - This device is not rugged for the workplace, and you will. I don't like being dropped while standing on a ladder and marking wires in the ceiling. Overall I think this is a really great home labeler. It's not a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth printer, but it's great when I need to label things I can or gifts I'm giving away. I also use it to label things I have around the house so I know what's inside. It's definitely worth the price, especially considering the cost of the included label cartridge. I don't give 5 star reviews often, but this product exceeded my expectations and I can't find anything wrong with it, which it isn't (it's not a printer attached to a device, so I don't think it should be compared to one). .

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Very expensive
