I use this for oil and vinegar. They are lived by lazy susan next to the stove and under the cupboard where we keep large oil/vinegar bottles. I bought an orange color which is slightly orange with a slight red tinge compared to the orange-yellowish pumpkin color. It seems that in the advertisement or somewhere it is written that it is made in China and Thailand. Structurally it is porcelain stoneware/ceramic, with a nice (thick?) glaze, smooth. The pour spout is like stainless steel with a silicone stopper (white opaque and soft) instead of rubber which fits the bottle fairly securely. The flap on the spout allows for ample control over splashes or spills (as shown). The damper does not seal, so you have to think about the storage time and oxidation of the fluids inside. The underside is unglazed. So if you're using them on a surface you might not want to scratch, felt/plastic (or other) furniture pads might be a consideration. The finger slot only allows the use of three fingers (and one thumb) and I don't have big hands, but the grip is stable and I'm not afraid of losing my grip. The larger bottle is approximately 9" tall and the smaller 8" tall, so make sure you have room if you plan to stay in a closet. The larger bottle has a 2-3/4" base, the smaller bottle has a 2-1/2" base. When filled with oil the large bottle weighs 2lb 13oz (nearly 3lb) for those who might find the weight bothering trying to get to the closet if you have shoulder or other joint/mobility issues. Filling was tricky, but I found a plastic food container that I could place the bottle in with the fill opening 90 degrees up and use a funnel. - non-porous glaze, therefore unlikely to absorb the flavors of the contents, ie. H. if you want to switch from balsamic vinegar to white or other less flavorful liquids. I've been using them for 3 months and haven't had any problems with bottom leaking as some other reviews have noted. Perhaps the leakage noted by others could be a defect in the interior glaze? The Q&A section says it can be cleaned in the dishwasher, but I doubt this doesn't clean the inside well given the size of the hole and the shape of the bottle, 25% vinegar in water (1 part 4) can be used or I will probably use diluted soap to keep the thick soap from sticking and washing off followed by a diluted vinegar rinse.
