When I bought them I didn't know they turn on automatically 24 hours after using the timer function. I figured setting a timer would just turn them off after the selected time and I'd have to walk around the house to turn them back on. So I turned them on first. Set it to candle flicker... set it to 8 o'clock... and let it do its thing. Every night at the same time they turn on again and stay on for 8 hours. I don't have to go from room to room. They are bright enough to be seen from the street. I just don't care about the color. I bought white and they look brown or beige.
