A good bin liner makes a big difference

I've had a regular bin for many years, but I never thought it was worth buying a custom bin liner. It sounded so shallow. So I would use tall kitchen bags from my local store. The problem is they're a little bigger than a can, but I would roll up the excess and then hold onto it when swapping out the container. The problem is that my husband could never handle it. So if he changed the bag, it would come off and ruin everything. A few years ago, a piece of plastic broke off, allowing us to close the lid silently. Our local library's public space needed a trash can, so I cleaned it and donated it - a big upgrade for them - and bought the next level of a simple human trash can for our kitchen. Several garbage bags arrived. Doesn't matter! Trash bags fit snugly on the trash can. The bag cannot be lost. Now even my husband can change bags. Also, they are very strong. I'm not getting any younger, so when I have a full garbage bag, I "walk" it down the stairs to the basement on its own (i.e. I pretty much throw it down). Despite everything, the bag is strong enough, it doesn't tear, nothing leaks and doesn't get enough sleep. Too bad I didn't use these bags all the time.

Pros
  • Spend individually
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
