Having worn several previous versions of the same shoe, I was surprised that this version (6) has a large arch support in the middle of the shoe. This made them very uncomfortable to wear and I had to send them back; Every step felt like there was a big bump right under my foot. The shoes were also quite difficult to put on because the laces went up leaving a fairly small opening for the foot. I have long and narrow feet and to my surprise this shoe was designed with a narrower foot that I have never experienced before. Before I bought this shoe I read most of the 1 and 2 star reviews complaining about basically the same things. People who have worn previous versions of this shoe were particularly critical of this version, and rather than listen, I was optimistic that maybe it wouldn't be that bad. Unfortunately they were right and I shouldn't have bought these shoes. This shows how much I enjoyed the previous versions. I wore them for many years until they fell apart and I really wanted to like the new ones so I can keep having great shoes. Thing is, Merrell killed that shoe but hopefully they can revive it in a future release.
