I had a 6V sealed lead-acid that might be questionable. It is not very old, but I had it in an application where it was not charged for a long time and the charge/voltage got really low. My little trickle charger (that is somewhat smart) didn't know what to do with it. This charger had no problem bringing it back to life. It did look like it thought it was a 12V battery, which concerned me. It does allow switching the voltage, which I did. Once the battery had some charge in it, I unplugged and re-plugged the charger and this time it automatically selected the correct voltage.I like that it has selectable 2A and 5A ranges. This makes it easier to use for the different size batteries I have. I have a bigger 10A one that I use for my very large (car sized) batteries, when they are very deeply discharged, or I am in a hurry. I have a 1A one for those times when I want to leave the charger on for an extended period. This one is good for both long term usage and quickly charging a reasonable sized battery. The clips are big enough to use on most any size battery, yet small enough they work on my small SLA batters with 1/4" spade plugs.I really like that it does both 6V and 12V batteries, since I have both.
