This is my first pair of Chacos, I had a pair of Tevas a while back. The location of the buckles and the rough Tevas nylon have given me blisters on almost every hike. I haven't had that problem with these Chacos - I've tried 3.2 mile hikes before. Love the design and the ease of adjustment of the straps in both the forefoot and midfoot. A lot more support compared to Tewas, but god they're heavy. The support has great cushioning and I understand the cushioning/durability goals, but look what Nike and Adidas have achieved with so much more materials, support and durability! But somehow my sandals now weigh as much as my basketball shoes. There's no reason for them to be as heavy as they are for the price.
