Review on Kuryakyn 8011 Replacement Rubber Shift by Brian Hrdlicka

Replacing lost or damaged pads (if needed)

I'm a little annoyed that I have to buy these replacement rubber pads, although glad I am that they were available so I didn't have to buy a new derailleur pin (instead) as I only recently bought the one I bought these pads for. Replacing the missing gasket was easy enough, although I decided to combine one of these replacement gaskets with some Gorilla Glue (superglue) which I hope will make the newly replaced gasket last. As a precaution, I gave the switch pin a good rub before hitting it with Gorilla Glue and then placing the new pad. The new pad is not as worn as the pads that have been in place for the past few weeks. So it's not like the weather is gone. Looks good, but probably best recommendation is to change all the pads at once if you're worried about the pads being well matched. I can say that the pads that were left on the derailleur (and on the brake pedal) have held up well, although I also ordered a new brake pedal after having one of the pads on it around the same time I lost the pad had lost at the shift pin.

Pros
  • This Kuryakyn part is most compatible with Harley: Kuryakyn ISO Shift Pegs
Cons
  • Large and bulky
