Review on Enhance Your Ride: PAC BCI-CH21 Backup Camera/Navigation Unlock Interface for Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/RAM Vehicles by Michael Lara

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It will be a bit difficult at the beginning but be patient and work on it.

I started this whole radio upgrade process with an expensive Kenwood deck, installed everything to find the new radios' user interface is crappy and ugly and the sound quality in comparison one of the awful is the factory base deck without the touchscreen it replaced so i ripped it all apart and bought a half price rbz-430 factory touchscreen deck off ebay from kenwood and installed it in my car. The only thing missing was the functionality of a rear camera, but thanks to this kit this is no longer a problem. Thanks to the other reviews here, the first thing I did upon unboxing was plugging it into my computer and downgrading the stock firmware. Release firmware (V1.1.2). I pulled out my 2009 Challenger 6 speed transmission, plugged everything in and realized that the car had to be running for the reverse gear camera to activate. I reversed it and the screen changed but it was blank and just said "Be sure to check your surroundings". I was shocked. I went back home and updated the firmware and tried again outside but it messed up the whole process so I downgraded the firmware again and tried a third time but no luck the screen was still black. I was about to rip it out, pack it up and send it back when I unplugged the camera from the pigtail the PAC indicated there should be a video input and tried one of the other yellow connectors which were plugged together with plugs (they still do female plugs or we call them gender neutral plugs these days) I put the camera plug in one of them and viola! It actually showed the image as it should. I couldn't believe I actually made it. I'm glad I now have a factory touch radio with backup camera and everything works as it should.

Pros
