. Received a Hitachi LC DVD drive in a timely manner even with terrible weather conditions so thanks Revain. What I didn't like was that the device I received was used, the box was open and the item was used by someone else. Obviously this wasn't what they expected, so the guesswork was passed back to Revane. Unfortunately, instead of Revain putting it in the used/open box sales area, it was sold back as new, never opened or used. There is usually a decent price difference between new and used/opened items. It feels like Revane took advantage of that a bit. Drive seems to work well with both Android mobile phones and Android tablets. It's actually amazing that it works just as well as using just one cable for power and data and with a Micro USB connection, which also means data transfer is slower than using the USB 3 data path The speed in between Drive and cell phone are neat, there is nothing to complain about. I was considering returning for a replacement or some sort of discount as it has been used although the unit worked as I noticed some faults mentioned after just a few weeks of use so not sure if the previous owner is posting this issue could have had a few weeks and why it was a return. After checking returnability please note that this model is no longer available so returns for exchange are not an option and I don't see any other devices mentioning that they work with Android devices. Since I don't have another external USB DVD drive to test and see if the Windows Base DVD drive will also work with Android devices using the right cable, my only choice at the moment is to get this one keep and hope for the best. Maybe Hitachi will see this or Revain will see and contact me for a replacement if they have a new and working one, or some sort of discount if there are problems later after the return/warranty is up. I would say that overall it works as promised in their ad and is a very small/lightweight portable device which can be very handy when using a tablet or mobile phone. It offers me an easy alternative way to transfer pictures/documents for use on my tablet and mobile phone without using any other way like transferring over Wi-Fi or using flash drives and without wasting time transferring files from Wasting CD/DVD on a flash drive. Then insert the flash drive into my android device to save time and effort. I think a good thing is the concept of working with all kinds of operating systems and its portable use, so it can be easily taken with you when needed. I like the idea of fast DVD/CD file transfer to my phone/tablet, plus a bonus to watch movies or listen to music CDs. These features work well too.
