The stem stays on my 2004 Liberty were starting to annoy me by losing their strength, I had to support them with my hand when it was open making it painful to do that Opening jar by reaching for it Load groceries or anything else I throw in the trunk. I ended up searching the internet for a video on how easy it is to do it yourself (I'm not a "car"), but when I saw the entire installation video, it took me about 3 minutes. I shrugged and ordered them. Works like a charm. Took 5 minutes to install (you only need a flathead screwdriver to remove the clip on the old TV) and now the glass magically pops open when I press the 'tailgate' button on the key fob. I excitedly ordered a second set for my mother's Jeep Liberty (2006) and similar carriers for my hood. I can't believe it took me this long to get this done for a $20 repair. only now in 2020 had to replace the 2004 storage shelves), they are cheap and very easy to install. I recommend 10/10, especially if you use the trunk a lot. By the way, I'm not kidding when I say that the rear window opens *fully* when you press the button on the key ring.
