As one who has struggled with weight since childbearing years, flattering dresses have been difficult to find. With the exception of very special occasions (weddings, funerals), you wouldn’t catch me in a dress. Fast forward to now, after losing 75 pounds and getting back to my pre-pregnancy size. I ordered this dress because the elastic bodice and flowing pleated skirt layers seemed more forgiving to those women packing a few extra pounds. I was not disappointed! Bodice is flattering, with elastic waist band hitting at the lower end of my rib cage (Size 36-D chest), but the skirt length still falls just above my knees. I prefer 3/4 length sleeves, and the elastic in the lower part of the arms is strong enough to keep them from falling down. Dressing up with pearls and heels, or going more casual with flats or boots work with this dress style.I have washed the dress once before writing this review, since often there are questions about durability and wrinkles. Despite the large number of seams to create the elastic bodice and arms, I didn’t see any loose threads before or after washing. Seams were well sewn all around the dress. The button and eye closure on back of neckline is strong too. Some wrinkles in the dress post washing (on cold) and drying (on low heat), but the skirt pleats and puffy sleeve design let me get away with not ironing for casual wearing.Recommend this dress for any occasion….
