Bought this to practice net in my living room. I don't want to risk using real balls in the house at all. Do they look like real golf balls? I would say no, but they are closer to reality than soft styrofoam balls. The cover on them is semi-rigid plastic (no foam). I can easily press on it with my thumb with little effort. I weighed one of these on a food scale = 5/8 oz. compared to one of my Callaway Supersofts, the 1.5 oz. So that's just over 1/3 the weight of a "real" golf ball. It's ok for me as I wanted more than foam but something that isn't too damaging on a miss. They don't sound or feel like a real ball, but are noticeably closer than soft foams. Can't comment on durability, but they can take an iron hit with no visible damage. The claim that they fly 75% less than a real golf ball is hard to believe given their significantly lighter weight, but I haven't tested them outdoors. So if this bothers you, contact other testers.
