Review on 🎡 Akai CE2000 Portable Boombox with LCD Display, Line-In, and Bass Boost - Perfect for CD/AM/FM Playback and AUX Input! by Chris Wheeler

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very good reception.

Good reliable radio and CD player. Pros: Very good reception. decent sound. Very good for talk radio and light background music. Has an extra input so I can play pandora and other stuff from my phone. Compact form factor, easy to carry. Cons: No tone controls. But the bass boost is turned off. So I turn bass boost off for talk radio and on for music. I'm pretty happy with this amount of control. Unbreakable boombox quality. The dial on the radio is a bit tricky to tune to an exact frequency as it is an analogue dial with a digital tuner. On the frequency, however, it catches the transmitter very well. There are no preset radio stations. No headphones or line out. Okay, now you're wondering why I gave it five stars. That's because it does exactly what I wanted at a very reasonable price. I just wanted good radio reception so I could hear background music and talk on the radio. I've tried at least ten better rated radios (a few Panasonics, a few Sonys, and a few Chinese ones here on Amazon) and none had as good a reception as this one. So, while the output sounds more like a portable radio than a ghetto blaster, the digital radio reception makes up for it and I still have an auxiliary input and a CD player. Plus, it runs on the power cord (included) or C-size batteries. Verdict: If you're looking for a portable radio with good reception, a simple and easy-to-carry form factor, and appealing sound quality, then you'll really like this one. unit revolution. But if you need a loud boombox, then this isn't for you.

Pros
  • Power supply: AC120 60Hz or 6 x 'C' (UM-2) (not included)
