If your swing door isn't razor-thin, less than 11 inches tall, and nearly weightless, it can last all day. The design and suggested placement will not work for drop down doors. If someone really thought about it. The height of the hinge attached to the opening is 10 inches and the hinge holding the door is almost 3 inches from the opening - the weight of the door is never supported by this hinge. The photos are deceptively clever - lead you to believe that the part holding the door is about halfway or more. DO NOT FALL. If you must purchase this item (and there are several), purchase a plastic insert for the dowel when mounting the hinge to an MDF board or chipboard/presswood door/cabinet. BUT. I do not recommend this item.
