A very small percentage of people report that they have lost connection. As someone who listens to a lot of AM I can tell you that the signal is about the same, maybe even better than the factory whip. I live in Pennsylvania, north of Pittsburgh, and travel to the city for work. Where I live the AM signal was weak, now seems a little better with this one. The closer you get to the city, the better the signal gets. My FM, XM signals have not changed at all. A quality product that makes it easier to install my Raptor in small garages because I no longer have to worry about the antenna hitting it.
