Review on 💨 be quiet! Shadow Rock 3 BK004 CPU Cooler: Powerful 190W TDP Cooling with HDT Technology by Prince Aguirre

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not for overclocking i7-11700K, also for ignoring the accelerator when i7-11700 CPU is locked

Noise level very quiet after half speed and not very loud at full speed. You can keep the RPM at around 400 RPM, which is completely silent for most computing activities. Except Cinebench R23. This causes the processor to heat up quickly. I tried this Be Quiet cooler with i7-11700 and i7-11700k processors, the motherboard was ASUS Tuf Games Z590. I'm a little disappointed that the motherboard doesn't allow you to set the maximum core temperature, but that's another story. This option is in the bios but I can't set it for some reason. The temperature tests I ran used the Cinebench R23 Multi-Core setting to keep the CPU busy. Tests with i7-11700 CPU locked ======== ================== Ok this cooler works fine if not overclocked, i7-11700 holds up to date 74C @ 176W (a little warm) Meanwhile, the ASUS motherboard lets you turn off the default INTEL multi-core choke, not a good 92C @ 194.2W. While the CPU wasn't smoking, I doubt it that the CPU can handle 92℃ for a long time. Rules) Testing with unlocked i7-11700K processor============================= i7-11700K is not overclocked and follows the Intel throttle rules. 83C @ 199W (a bit warm in my opinion) now if you enable level 1 overclocking on the i7-11700K forget it, the CPU quickly went to 95C @ 222W, if you choose extreme overclocking forget it, the CPU is quickly overclocked to 100C at 237W and I paused the test to conserve my CPU. Summer i7-11700k (unlocked CPU): 83°C at 199W (with all Intel throttling rules and no overclocking) 95°C at 222W (fast overclocking) 100°C at 237W (extreme overclocking) *I have the test completed in seconds, i need a bigger cooler. So despite everything I tested a lot and this air cooler looks very nice in a case, it is very quiet under normal load. d without acceleration. However, if you want to overclock the i7-11700K or ignore the throttling rules on the i7-11700, this cooler can't compete. Which makes sense in terms of performance, since the cooler is sold with up to 190 watts. I need a 250W cooler which I will eventually do. Can't select the newer cooler BE Quiet Dark Pro 4, BK022 250W or Noctua NH-D15 Chromax Black 140mm? Anyone have any suggestions? On the other hand, it doesn't cover the memory at all, which is a bonus as I like the look of the Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB memory. If I think of anything I'll edit this post, but in the end it's a great cooler with lots of goodies, but shouldn't be used with an overclocked or unlocked i7-11700k processor.
