Review on Bioluz LED Light Dimmable ๐Ÿ”ฆ 6 Pack: Illuminate Your Space with Versatility by Ryan Hare

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good and reasonable price.

Replaces standard 60 watt clear incandescent lamp in three brackets above bathroom mirror. Tired of lightbulbs that often burn out. The color is pretty close to the warmth of incandescent bulbs. I find them slightly green, but it's barely noticeable. The woman didn't say a word, so I call it a win. No delay, immediately. At "40W equivalent," they're essentially the same brightness as the 60W incandescent bulbs they replaced. I think the LED version of the "60 watt equivalent" would be too bright. I'm gradually replacing the light bulbs in my house with LEDs, especially if they're prone to burning out. So far I've switched to Utilitech LEDs for my heavily used, poorly ventilated kitchen lights, my exterior door lights and now my master bathroom. I'm particularly color sensitive so I always aim for the light from a regular 2700K incandescent bulb. I originally bought the Utilitech bulb because it was in stock at Home Depot. I am very happy with this in my kitchen. The second one next to my front door is fine. It doesn't match low voltage street lights like I would like. But it's not far. All 6 Biolus bulbs arrived well packaged and working. I will let you know if there are any durability issues over time. This is a good test for a very humid bathroom with a lot of activity. UPDATE: After a short period of use, I tried replacing these bulbs with Home Depot's much more economical 60-watt-equivalent Philips 2-LED bulb kits ($5). ). I read conflicting reviews about Philips, but it seems to me that their color is more like an incandescent lamp, without the green tint. Aside from obviously being brighter and claiming an expected lifespan of 10 years instead of the Bioluz's 23 years, there's really no real difference, including a 3 year warranty. I was ready to return these Bioluz lightbulbs BUT unfortunately they didn't pass the 'woman's test'. She mentioned that the new bulbs were too bright and asked to turn Bioluz back on. I'd be interested to see an equivalent 40W Philips LED, but so far they don't offer a Value Pack on top of their 60W. I've uploaded a few photos showing the lamps. It's actually difficult to photograph light, but I think it gives a reasonable idea of what to expect. Shown on the left with 3 Philips bulbs, in the middle Bioluz and on the right a standard Soft White GE 60W bulb. In the photo with two bulbs, Philips is compared on the left with Bioliz on the right. I found the Philips to be a truer white light but that's not a fair comparison as it's brighter. Compared to GE's standard 60W incandescent bulb, the Philips was pretty close, but a bit colder.

Pros
  • Replaces standard 40 watt incandescent lamp
Cons
  • old
