Review on Latest Black 10.1 Inch Android 10.0 Tablet – Octa-Core, 32GB ROM/128GB Expandable, 1920x1200 IPS HD Glass Display, Dual 18MP Camera, WiFi/Bluetooth/GPS/OTG/Google Certified [2021 Update] by Jeffery Pricinoc

I bought this tablet to give me an extra platform, I have iOS/iPad, Skinned Android/fire HD 10 (2019) but I haven't had a "real" one since Asus Eee Pad "Android Tablet more TF101 "Transformer" from Kit Kat times. With that in mind, I wanted something inexpensive but with decent specs for 95% consumption and 5% performance. This tablet is (IMO) based on a UNISOC SC9863A SOC as I can't find a Mediatek SOC that matches the listed 1.6GHz octa core or SOC with more/smaller eight cores with one tuned to 1.6GHz . UNISOC SC9863A SOC is a legacy phone platform based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 429 - it has 8 x Cortex-A55 @ 1.6GHz - PowerVR GE8322/IMG8322 GPU and is 963 days old at the time of this review. All in all it seemed to meet my "requirements" so the order was placed. The device arrived in nice eco-friendly packaging with a tablet, a wall wart and a Type-C cable. Boot was slower than I expected, but that's probably due to the eMMC main storage and only 2GB of RAM. Setup was as exciting as any "clean new" device that I didn't have an image to restore to. At some point I noticed in my google account that the device was listed as Zonko K101 which doesn't seem to have a suitable model for it so I assume the problem with the ID is either on the google page or on the device page lies . I have a DMLuna case for Dragon Touch 10 inch K10/Notepad K10/Max10/ZONKO K105 10.1 tablet (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08V159SB2) and it fits perfectly so expect I get an ODM unit with a light signature touch at the door exit. So at this point I've added my apps, a case and a Samsung EVO 128GB U3 MicroSDXC (MB-ME128GA/AM) card. They warn about checking SD card compatibility but I can't find a list or link but I assume Samsung is ok. When you insert the card, you will be prompted to set it up as a second storage device or as an additional storage device, which is what I chose. It had to format the card and was then treated as "main storage" for the device. Issue 1 Card insertion was an act of frustration and defiance when you pull a piece of plastic from the back to access the slot. It is about 1 inch from the top on the back of the internal organs, but access is through a hole in the top. Typically, you insert the card into a slot along the back of the motherboard. The problem is that the components at the top of the map area are blocking this path. As a result, it is quite difficult to align the leading edge of the card with the slot. The lack of a slot means your microSD card will fall into the case and may not be freed without luck or disassembly of the tablet. Luckily I was able to turn the tablet over and shake the card so I could reach it with tweezers. Subsequent attempts shaved off some of the plastic on the top of the card (the logo and such didn't damage the memory), but I was eventually able to install and format the card. This problem will recur and should therefore not be underestimated. Problem 2: Video playback (Netflix, Revain Video, Hulu, HBO Max, and local Plex) was a mixed bag, often fine, but when there were problems (playback errors reported by the app), I had to force close the app or restart the tablet start . The house has 1 Gbps balanced fiber and a NETGEAR Nighthawk AX8 WIFI 6 (RAX70) 8-Stream Tri-Band Router 6 (RAX70) - AX6600 Tri-Band Router for access, so there was no bandwidth issue in the house shouldn't be in the house and it wasn't on iOS. or fire extinguishers. Problem 3 - Google Sheets won't open, period. My wife uses it for to-do lists and similar simple lists, but I can't open it on this device. I haven't tried or installed any other Google productivity apps as that was the sum of 5% productivity usage. Problem 4: After a week or three, the device reported that my MicroSD card is not supported and needs to be reformatted. Okay, weird, but the reformat approval never completes. Remove the card (see issue 1) and confirm it works on S10+ and Windows - the issue requires formatting when removed from the device, but is expected as the formatting failed on the device. So try another Samsung - Evo Plus Class 10 UHS-I U3 (MB-MC128GA/APC) and it will boot it up, format it and show it as primary storage for at least a few weeks, and then the same unsupported error. I made a replacement/refund for this item and received my second unit. Same experience/problem except 4. I put the first (cleaned) microSD card in the second box and it showed up as primary secondary storage again. A few weeks went by and it said this card is not supported, so I turn off the tablet, reload the card into the slot (see problem 1 again) and turn on the tablet, and so far the card is fine. There's still no solution for Google Sheets, and honestly, it's just not worth trying as it works fine on iOS or Fire HD 10. So 5% of the use case is gone and incompatible issues keep popping up with the main use case of 95%. I would give it to a neighbor to replace his Nexus 7 (2013) in his car as he wanted to get bigger but I don't want to pass my problems on to him. I haven't tried playing locally from memory to "prove" that the network isn't the problem, but then again, it's just not worth trying to figure out. I would give it one star based on that experience and add one because I could be spoiled by the iOS and fiery experience so someone with no preconceived notions could be one star happier. Revised Section - Sheets now open. I wanted to try again after watching to check and to my surprise it opened up. Then the "stupidity" began. I wanted to access the system menu (start menu) but it's 98% plain chinese and I didn't have a google translate app nearby. Next thing I know, factory reset the device. So now let's do a cloud restore and should see if Tables still works. It didn't get a star as it only made up 5% of the tablet, but it will be updated.
