Review on 🐠 Brightwell Aquatics Phosphat-E - Efficient Phosphate Remover for Marine Fish and Reef Tank by Cara Ruiz

Dosing instructions are confusing

Might be a great thing, can't tell yet but I have a real problem with dosing instructions. First, I understand that the dose is based on the amount of phosphate reduction desired in a given volume of water. I understand. But you have to do the math to figure out the right dose. "Each mL eliminates 1 ppm of phosphate in 4 gallons of water." Okay, I have 40 gallons of clean water in my aquarium and I want to reduce my phosphate by 0.2 parts per million. What is my dose? I have to do some math to understand this. I don't want to do math. I want to read a chart that did the math for me. nope They don't offer it, not even on the website. However, I can calculate my dose. 1 ml removes 1 ppm in 4 gallons of water. Thus 1mL removes 0.5ppm in 8 gallons 1mL removes 0.25ppm in 16 gallons 1mL removes 0.125ppm in 32 gallons 1 cap (5mL) removes 0.6ppm in 32 gallons. That's where my dosage goes south for me. The instructions on the bottle also state that 5mL will remove 1ppm in 40 gallons of water. How can 5ml remove 0.6ppm in 32 gallons and 1.0ppm in 40 gallons? If only it had what it says, oh yes, a CHART!***Two treatments later*** I still don't like the directions and all my previous complaints about determining the right amount of fluid but. things worked. Like, fully deserved. According to my API phosphate test, my levels went from >1.0ppm to undetectable levels. Nothing died in the tank and I'm happy with the result.
